It’s ENORMOUS!
In September, Mr. Brown was tending a huge marrow, which he had planted in March. When he tried to pull the marrow out, he pulled and tugged but the marrow wouldn’t budge.
So Mr. Grudder, a farming friend, came along to help. Mr. Grudder and Mr. Brown pulled and tugged, but it still wouldn’t budge. Then Little Blue Tractor came to help, then a bird and, last of all, an ant. All of them pulled and tugged, and boy! did it fly?! It flew up in to the air and landed with a dull thud - back into the hole again.
So they had to pull again, but they all fell over backwards. It finally came out.
They all helped to make a delicious marrow pie, made with tomatoes, eggs, and leeks from Mr. Brown’s backyard and the bacon came from Mr. Grudder’s fat pig, Big Bessie.
